Federal Govt Records N3 Trillion in Eight Months from FIRS Tax Collection

The Federal Government has stated through the FIRS that at the end of August, they have realised about N3trillion from tax collection. In a statement from the Director, Communications and Liaison Department of the FIRS,  Mr. Emmanuel Obeta,oil revenue topped the list as accounted for N2.202 trillion while non-oil taxes represented N1.187 trillion of the cumulative figures from January to August. Crime Battle: Fashola Launches 114 Patrol Vehicles

Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has launched 114 patrol vehicles, 40 motorcycles and other equipment for the police to battle rising wave of crime in the Lagos metropolis.
Also launched for the Rapid Response Squad, RRS, are four big vans and an ambulance vehicle, bullet proof jackets and helmets.
The 20 Local Governments and the 37 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, donated the 114 vehicles to be distributed to fight crime in the state.
The other equipment were donated by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, STF, for the battle against crime while the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar was present at the event.
