Dangote Group has been named the best indigenous participating company at the just concluded 2012 Lagos International Trade Fair and Exhibition.
President of Lagos Chamber of Commerce Mr Goodie Ibru, said while presenting the award that Dangote gave an impressive showing throughout the 11-day event.
He also said Dangote Group proved at the Fair that indigenous companies can compete favourably with their foreign counterparts in terms of products, service and innovation.
Also, Peoples Republic of China won the best participating country at the fair. NEM Insurance won the best insurer at the fair.
Speaking further, Ibru commended stakeholders who took part in the fair.
He expressed the Chamber's intent to partner always with the Lagos State Government to develop an exhibition and convention facility which befits Lagos.
He said: "We have always a vision of a facility that would be of high standard and provide the appropriate ambience for an international trade fair, a facility that would be accessible by small businesses to showcase their products and ingenuity."
