Federal Govt Records N3 Trillion in Eight Months from FIRS Tax Collection
The Federal Government has stated through the FIRS that
at the end of August, they have realised about N3trillion from tax
collection. In a statement from the Director, Communications and Liaison
Department of the FIRS, Mr. Emmanuel Obeta,oil revenue topped the list
as accounted for N2.202 trillion while non-oil taxes represented N1.187
trillion of the cumulative figures from January to August. This is a
vast improvement when compared to the total collection of N2.93 trillion
for the same period in 2011.

vehicles, 40 motorcycles and other equipment for the police to battle

The 20 Local Governments and the 37 Local Council Development Areas, LCDAs, donated the 114 vehicles to be distributed to fight crime in the state.
The other equipment were donated by the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, STF, for the battle against crime while the Inspector General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar was present at the event.
